Is semiquantification of HPVs possible?

• YES and NO! With PapilloCheck, (semi)quantification of the viral load within a sample is possible but is restricted to multiple HPV infections. In this case, the values for the SNRs will reflect the ratio between the different HPVs within the sample. However, this is not true for single infections! Here, the SNRs will NOT allow to make any assumptions of the viral load! Since 45 cycles are used for amplification, even tiny amounts of viral DNA will be amplified to max.
