When using Leucosep®, where do the polymorphonuclear leucocytes end up?
After separation of whole blood with Leucosep® several layers (bands) are forming.
From the bottom up these layers contain:- Polymorphnuclear granulocytes and erythrocytes in the pellet
- Separation medium (e.g. Ficoll-Paque)
- Separation disc
- Lymphocytes / PBMCs in the interphase
- Plasma
