Question concerning ELISA plates: What is the difference between Half-Area and F-Bottom?

  • Greiner Bio-One offers microplates with two different F-Bottom formats - Standard F-Bottom and F-Bottom Chimney Well. Half Area is equal to the F-Bottom format, the smaller well size reduces the sample volume about 50 %.

    F-Bottom Standard: - Total Volume: 382 µl
                                       - Working Volume: 25 - 340 µl

F-Bottom Chimney Well: - Total Volume: 392 µl
                                           - Working Volume: 25 - 340 µl

F-Bottom Half Area: - Total Volume: 199 µl
                                           - Working Volume: 15 - 175 µl

The images below show the different F-bottom well profiles.
