What is the difference between Poly-D- and Poly-L-Lysine-coated microplates?

  • Poly-L- and Poly-D-Lysine are enantiomers and differ in the sterical assembly of the atoms in the molecule. Both coatings enhance adherence of cells in vitro. Poly-L-Lysine is in contrary to Poly-D-Lysine degradable by cellular proteases.
